Production costs of horror films can be very low when compared to non-horror films
This shows that films don't need high production costs to be successful. Things like costume and props can be bought with a low budget and the location does not have to hired, but a place which can be accessed to the public for free.
- Paranormal Activity- production costs were about $15,000 . Generated in excess of $190 million at the global box office.
- The Blair Witch Project- It's production costs were about $35,000 and it made in excess of $245 million at the global box office.
- Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides officially holds the record for highest budget with a budget of $378.5 million. The film is also the 25th highest grossing film of all time and grossed $1.05 billion.
- Justice League- production costs were $300 million and generated $657.9 million at the global box office
