Costume

The genre of the short film is Gothic and psychological.  Gothic texts are always based in the 1800s or sometimes earlier, therefore the costumes have to be appropriate according to the time period. 

Women in the 1800s wore floor length dresses and skirts with a separate button up top and jacket/overcoat. Their hair were also usually tied up in a bun.

The main character for the short film will be a girl in mourning, thus she will be wearing clothes similar to the image on the right, black skirt and button up top with her hair in a bun.
